RARE 2001 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Promotional WAND with PROVENANCE
SOLD $1,500.00 Sold: Oct 15, 2023 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Wand - 2001 RARE Promo Item w/ PROVENANCE Exclusive never sold to public when released.Lot includes: a 2001 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone promo wand and box, 2001 Harry Potter Glasses, and "Let the Magic Begin" card that came with the wand. The promo wands for the premier of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001 were exclusives not available to the general public. I've seen other 2001 Harry Potter promotional wands sold online, but none yet that have provenance. So I'll share my wand's provenance. If requested, I can share more but I'm selling this wand from my personal collection. I have been the only owner. In 2001, I was the Los Angeles Editor for a division of AOL TimeWarner and would receive press promos/kits and press previews for Warner Bros. films, including the first Harry Potter movies. As a member of the press, I received this wand in the green box with a pair of the Harry Potter glasses AND with the "Let the Magic Begin" card, which is still a bit crinkled and curved because it was placed under the wand in the box. The third photo shows the placement of the wand, glasses, and card just as they were when I opened the box back in 2001. I remember it vividly because others watched me as I opened it.The wand is made of wood, not resin. The "Harry Potter" logo with TM&© is engraved (not painted) in the handle of the wand. The green fabric in the box came glued across the entire bottom of the box — and I assume it was made that way so the fabric folds just the right way in the box. On the bottom of the box you can see the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone logo with the 2001 Warner Bros. sticker. MY WAND CAME WITH A "LET THE MAGIC BEGIN" CARD that I have not yet seen with any other promo wand online.WHY IS PROVENANCE IMPORTANT? Authenticity. It's important to know the origin of a collectible like this and its story. I was an employee at AOL TimeWarner at the time and can vouch for its authenticity. If requested by buyer, I can write a short authentication letter and sign it.Will ship insured from Phoenix, Arizona. International buyers are responsible for paying any relevant duties or taxes in their respective country NOTE: I also have a 2000 Warner Bros. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone metal cauldron that came with a promo card and Bertie's Botts beans as a Halloween promo gift just weeks before the World Premiere of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. They are NOT included in this lot, but you can message me if interested in them. (Condition: Brand New)
